Giant Boeing 747 Vertical Takeoff

I was on a 747-400 back in the mid-90's making a short jump between Rio and Sao Paulo, Brazil before heading back to the US during a nice tropical storm. Apparently the pilot grew tired of all the lightning and turbulence. so he throttled up and put us in ~45+/- degree climb to get over and out of the storm cells. My co-worker slept through the whole event. Those folks not adhering to that little "Fasten Seatbelt While Seated" sign (light) received a quick lesson as to why they install those things. It was both interesting and sad watching people leaving their seats and making friends with the ceiling. For those who don't know, this video is made from x-plane 11. X-plane 11 is the flight simulator, so of course this situation doesn't happen in real life. The plane taxi to the runway from Pane Field airport. It takeoff and lands at the same runway.
