Welcome back to the our channel for an overview of the intense operations of civilian and military airport during extreme snow storms. As someone who lives right by MSP, the stuff they have to do is insane to keep runways clear. Especially when it can snow for over 48 HRS at a time. We see that heated grounds work in Holland, Michigan. It's a wonder why there are no airports that have a heated grounds system in place. I worked at BWI in Baltimore back in 1997 for State Aviation Admin.  clearing runways in order to keep the Airport open. Because everything north of it was closed because of a bad winter snow. I didn't get home for 5 days. We didn't even have a shower for 5 days. My wife said pull that stinking mess off on the porch. At that point I was thinking about moving to Florida, after another ten years it happened. I never want to see snow again unless it is on my TV.
