Welcome back to the our channel for a discussion about Navy divers, men and women who share one of the most dangerous and demanding jobs in the world. In a time where the media inflicts alot of celebrity crap on the public,it is great to see recognition of this group of men and women, truly people to be admired! Takes a great toll on the diver's health due to the many times they're in such deep water and may require decompression. 2 things- SMER is Submarine Escape and Rescue system, which is a little bit different from what you said. And while UCT (Underwater Construction Teams) are a part of the Seabees (CB- Construction Battalions), the terms are not interchangeable like you used. So while all UCT members are Seabees, not all Seabees are UCT swimmers. Most work on land and do normal construction duties, like the USACE- US Army Corps of Engineers. No matter how well a wet suit is made it is damned cold in the sea. Been there and will only use a dry suit now. I may be old but not stupid anymore. Youth has a firm grip on expeditions like that. I do hope these fine people  will never have to do recoveries like this ever  again.
