Hello; Will this 1929 gmc 2 ton run after 81 years of being abandoned in the woods the truck has a 310 cubic inch Buick not a 216 Will it run Will it run after 30 years Will it start? The sound of pistons slowly firing and then increasing is a blessed sound of something you did well on, good job man can’t wait for the full restoration. This is impressive when you consider that old truck wasn't left where it was because it was running well. It already conked out on someone which is why it was junked. He had to overcome not just 81 years of time, but the original mechanical issue(s). While focusing on cylinder blow by, did you ever consider pulling off the valve cover to check for stuck valves. It really didn't seem as though all cylinders were firing. I love to see someone younger trying to keep the old iron alive. These were built like nothing is today. Simple, strong and lasting to me, to hear it pop to life, was like a seeing a child born. I think in caring hands this truck may never die. Long live old iron. There are not many left who know what that means. It's inspiring to see someone of the younger generation appreciate it. Remember these were built before CAD and automation. These were built by people. Not robots, machines and computer programs. Immagine for a moment, if the people back then, had the technology of today. You would buy one car, for the rest of your life. Unless you crashed it of course.
